    Hippophae rhamnoides
The scientific name originated from the expedition of Napoleon. The troops could not bring themselves to kill sickened old horses and let them graze in the mountains, and soon after discovered that the horses were sturdy and their hair was exceptionally shiny. They thought of it as a gift of god and traced where they were and found them eating fruits and leaves in the mountains. That is why this fruit was called a "sacred fruit from God."

Vitamin tree fruits are harvested from the Tibet region of the tough Himalayan mountains. They are the treasure trove of energy that comes to fruition in harsh environments.

Called sea buckthorn berries or vitamin trees, the fruit has a yellowish orange color in pearl shape. It contains medically significant components, such as tocopherol (the major forms of vitamin E), flavonoids (anti-cancer, heart disease prevention effect), carotenoids (natural pigments), sterols, and tannic acid. Vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, carotene and flavone found in the fruit of the tree have medical effects. Vitamin tree fruit extract is known to promote antibacterial activities, have effects against cancer, hypertension, and diabetes, and helps heal wounds.
